LET’S INTRODUCE OURSELVES
Our club was founded in 1995 after a public meeting at which setting up a “Friends of the President Ridge Bird Sanctuary” group was discussed. The feeling was overwhelmingly expressed that Randburg could do with its own bird club with specific emphasis on the care and monitoring of the birdlife in the Sanctuary.
The following are some regular activities arranged by the club for members:
Day outings – mostly on Sundays
Weekends away
Evening Meetings – held at the Randburg Methodist Church, cnr Grove Street and Bram Fischer Drive, Ferndale
Special Trips – extended trips to neighbouring countries (by demand)
Mid-week outings – these outings not restricted to birding venues but of general interest

The President Ridge Bird Sanctuary forms the backbone of our Club. Our members are very proud of the developments we have been able to achieve to the benefit of the many visitors to this special place in the heart of Randburg. We have developed a workbook for primary school learners who visit with their teachers on organized outings. These visits are guided by members who give freely of their time and expertise.
